Highams Park 5 mile cross-country 11/11/06

As this was our 'home' fixture for the winter season, the call went out for both helpers and runners. I am please to say that plenty of Walthamstow helpers appeared (many thanks to you all) to ensure the event ran smoothly. We also had a much better team turn out thankfully, with an 'old boy' making a welcome return.

Chingford Plain 5.5 mile cross-country 30/12/06

Possibly the 2nd worse turnout ever in the wettest & muddiest course for a long time!

I cannot bring myself to say anymore.

'Solid' performances from everyone saw the Club claim 5th position beating the mighty Woodford Green and even mightier Eton Manor!

Trent Park Chingford League cross-country relay 17/3/07

1st leg Danny Rose v40 10min 35secs

2nd leg Nick Shasha 9min 44secs

3rd leg Dey Wilson 10min 26 secs

4th leg Colin Read 10min 34secs

finished 4th team 41min 19secs out of 39 teams including Juniors and Ladies

The final race of the season was once again held at Trent Park. The figure of 8 course gives excellent spectator vision and runners can be seen for almost the whole length of their lap. Danny started conservatively, finishing strongly. Nick then showed that the years of ballet classes had paid off by gliding round. Dey then gave new meaning to the famous 'silver streak'. Colin set off at an amazing pace and then slowed amazingly to bring the Club home 4th, quite close to the leaders and a long way ahead of anyone else.

As for the season as a whole, the Club finished equal 6th  with 21 points and the vets 9th.
